<p>WHAT HAS BEEN DONE IN WASHINGTON.
<lb>Meetings have been held for men every Sunday afternoon for over three years.
<lb>Some sixty men have been converted, most of whom have joined churches.
<lb>A profitable friendship has sprung up between many young men through this means of meeting.
<lb>Six hundred men, representing all churches and classes have been enrolled.
<lb>WHAT WE NEED.
<lb>A building which will be the center of the uplifting
<lb>activities of the young colored men of the city.
<lb>A building such as has been described in this prospectus.
<lb>
<hsep>To this end, Mr. John D. Rockefeller, an outside friend, because of his interest in the Nation&apos;s Capital, offers &dollar;25,000, on condition that a like amount be raised among our people.</p>

<p>WHAT PROMINENT MEN SAY.
<lb>Hon. Henry B. F. Macfarland, President Board of
<lb>Commissioners, District of Columbia:
<lb>&ldquo;All the conditions which have made it difficult for your men to develop fully and perfectly into the highest character have been increased and intensified. Against the new as against the old dangers and temptations there is no better defense for young men than the Young Men&apos;s Christian Association.&rdquo;</p>
<p>Charles Cuthbert Hall, D. D.,
<lb>President Union Theological Seminary, New York
<lb>
<hsep>&ldquo;If I were asked to name the agency that within the last few years has been most helpful to the Church of Christ, and most successful in winning men to the Christian life, without hesitation I would name the Young Men&apos;s Christian Association.&rdquo;</p>
<p>Booker T. Washington:
<lb>&ldquo;Every dollar invested in the Young Men&apos;s Christian
<lb>Association work in city or in college, is an interest-bearing dollar. Every dollar so spent makes the black man more
<lb>substantial as a taxpayer and more reliable as a Christian
<lb>citizen.&rdquo;</p>
<p>Hon. John Wanamaker, Philadelphia:
<lb>&ldquo;If I had my life to go over again I would not put less money or less time in the Young Men&apos;s Christian Association work, but I would put double what I have done.&rdquo;</p>
