DR. STACY'S REMEDIES FOR MALARIAAND OTHER DISEASES.

For Alternative Fever Pills.Rx Leptandren 2 drams, Colocynth compound 2 drams, Rhubarb 2 drams, Padophylin 1 dram. Mix in powder; make in pill mass, roll into common sized pills, DOSE: As an alterative, 1 pill each night for 5 or 6 nights, take off and on till the liver is relieved. For a cathartic, from 1 or 3 or 4, take as often as are needed. This cures liver complaint.

Compound Powder of Ipecac and Opium.Rx Nitre 8 drams. Gum Camphor 2 drams Ipecac 1 dram. Opium 30 grains, mix in powder. This is an anodyne diophretic preparation, useful in all febrile, inflammatory, rheumatic nervous and painful effections. It relieves pain, allays nervousness, promotes perspiration and sleep, and is useful in all disease. It relieves the kidneys and skin. DOSE: Mix this powder with quinine equal, fill a No. 2 capsule, give 3 to 6 a day according to severity of case. No fever can stand this treatment. This with the pills and tonic will cure all malarial diseases, and the wash for inflammation.

Prescription for Iron Tonic.Good whisky 1/2 pint, Syrup, simple, 1/2 pint, Carbonate of Iron 4 drams. Quinine 30 grains, mix in bottle. DOSE: One tablespoonful before each meal. Shake the bottle. This is a stimulant tonic, purifier and appetizer, and is good in all low forms of disease and convalescence.

Prescription for Wash for Sores, Inflammation, Etc.Permanganate of Potassa 20 grains, water 1 pint, mix. This solution will cure erysipelas, cuts, torn or pierced flesh, scalds, galls, burns, bites and stings of insects: will stop mortification, prevent blood poison, and will cure all inflammation peculiar to female. USE: Wet a cloth in the solution, lay over the parts affected, keep wet 2 or 3 days, and the cure is complete. For females, use with a syringe; take pills and tonic.

Prescription for Cramps, Colic, Vomiting, Etc.No. 6, DOSE: From 10 to 20 drops in cold sweetened water, repeat as as often as needed.

Prescription for Nerve Medicine.Chloral Hydrate 2 drams. Bromide of Potassa 4 drams, water 1/2 pint, mix. Doses: One teaspoonful each 4 hours will settle any nerves.

Old Folks Bitters.1/2 pint good Whiskey, 1/2 pint Syrup, 1/2 ounce of Fluid Extract of Gentian, 1/2 ounce Fluid Extract Golden Seal.

Receipt for Cough Syrup.Fd. Extract Ipecac 1/2 ounce, Tr. Myrrh 2 drams, Tr. Capsicum 1 dram, Syrup sufficient to fill an 8 ounce bottle. DOSE: From 10 to 30 drops as often as needed; say 4, 5 or 6 times a day.

Receipt for Dropsy.Cream Tartar. DOSE: One ounce divided into 3 doses. Give one every 2 or 3 hours. This is a drastic cathartic and will run the water out of the system.

Female Regulator.Ginger 7 drams, Bayberry 7 drams, Spice Cloves 1 dram, Cayenne Pepper 1 dram. Mix. Dose: 8 or 10 grains in a cup of hot water. Let steep. Drink on going to bed. Bathe the feet. Use 4 or 5 nights at each period.
