P&P ONLINE CATALOG - ANSEL ADAMS'S MANZANAR PHOTOS

How to Order Copies

Note: Digitizing of Ansel Adams's Manzanar prints and negatives was done at a high resolution and is sufficient for most publication purposes. Users may download images themselves or can order quality copies through the Library of Congress Photoduplication Service.

Obtaining Copies from Digital Files through the Photoduplication Service

Order Number: Use the LC-DIG number listed in the Reproduction Number field. If more than one LC-DIG number is listed, select the preferred image. (Generally, the original photographic print, if there is one in Library of Congress holdings, appears first in the thumbnail display, the original negative appears to its right.)
Price: See Photoduplication Service pricing for Digital Imaging Services.

Obtaining Copies from Black-and-White Film Negatives

For preservations reasons, images are printed from duplicate film negatives.

Order Number: Use the LC-A35 or LC-A351 number listed in the Reproduction Number field. If no LC-A35 or LC-A351 number is listed, no negative exists.
Price: See Photoduplication Service pricing for Photographic Services.

Obtaining Color Copies

Ansel Adams's Manzanar images were photographed with black-and-white film and were scanned in black-and-white. If a color copy showing the tonality of the print is desired:

Order Number: Use the LC-USZC... number listed in the Reproduction Number field. If no LC-USZC... number is listed, the original will have to be photographed in color by the Photoduplication Service. Order photography of the original by citing the Call Number.
Price: See Photoduplication Service pricing for Photographic Services.

The Photoduplication Service accepts orders by mail, fax (202-707-1771) and email (photoduplication@loc.gov). The Photoduplication Service estimates that it takes 3-6 weeks to complete an order. See the Photoduplication Service web site (http://lcweb.loc.gov/preserv/pds/photo.html) for further information and order forms, or contact the Photoduplication Service (telephone: 202-707-5640; email: photoduplication@loc.gov).
