Leonard Bernstein! -- why don't you ever write to me. Here I am far away from home -- and nary a word from you. Shame!

Spent most of Oct. in Buenos Aires and Montevideo. Flew back across the Andes yesterday to spend 10 days here. Im conducting; and playing the Piano Concerto with the orchestra. I'll be in Rio on Nov. 6. (Write care American Consulate, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.) Home by the 15th of Dec.

Finished the Sonata! Played the world premiere in B[uenos] A[ires]. Slonimsky was there. Musicians said nice things.

What are you up to? The silence is ominous. Write me what everybody is saying, thinking and doing. Including you.

Did you receive my book?

Sweet remembrances to all the friends. For you -- un embrazo.
