The Library of Congress Audio-Visual Prototyping Project is experimenting with the creation of digital content "wrapped" by METS (Metadata Encoding and Transmission Standard). This page provides access to digital objects that reproduce items from the collections of the Motion Picture, Broadcasting, and Recorded Sound Division, the American Folklife Center and the Prints and Photographs Division. The software used to present the objects has been produced for the Library by the contractor User Technology Associates.

Some of the objects presented in this test are represented in the Library of Congress Online Catalog and Sound Online Inventory and Catalog (SONIC). As persistent identifiers are added to these records, on-site users will be able to access the objects directly from these catalogs. This page has been created to provide direct access to sample object in the near term.

During this user test, changes are being made to both the METS data structure and to the software that is provided to view and listen to the sample objects. Comments on object structure and presentation are encouraged. Although the user test is not intended to refine the simple tools that have been provided to identify and access selected objects, comments about them are also welcome.
