Brief Guide to American Memory

1. Explore the American Memory home page.
2. Find the list of collections. Explore some of the collections, in particular, Touring Turn-of-the-Century America, 1880-1920. What do you find there that helps you learn about child labor in America and the type of work children did?
   
   
3. To get a sense of how large American Memory is, browse the collections. Scroll below the search box to see the list. Chose Show Collection Descriptions to learn more about the collections.
   
   
4. Next, use the Collection Finder to locate items in different media formats. Find:

   Photos and Prints - Find a photo of a city you know.
   Maps - Find a map of the same city.
   Written Materials - find a document on early labor unions written prior to 1938.
   Sound Recordings -Find a song or music recording of your choice.

   Print what you've found along with its bibliographic information. For sound recordings, print the page with the bibliographic information.
