Dear Mom and Dad,

I thought I'd better write now while I had the time. We're in reserve now. The move was hard. Right now we have only 2 operators here so we have to split each 24 hours. We work four hours and are off four hours. They won't let us take longer shifts for fear that we'll fall asleep. Don't think we just loaf around during our off hours during the day. They always put us on details. I'm driver of the CW truck so I have to take care of it and pull maintenance checks.

Tomorrow I want you to go to Milikan's record shop and buy "Mom and Dad's Waltz" by Lefty Frizell. Please!! Listen to it and tell me if you think it's wonderful. If you would play it when you read my letters it can save a lot of words.

I'm still waiting for my mail to catch up with me.

I've got to sit here and think hard because outside of the move we haven't done a thing but work.

How is everyone? How are Loretta, Lydia and Joe? I still want Lydia's picture. Right now all the radio messages have been in voice but in a while we'll change to "CW" (continuous wave or code)

I lost my address book so you'll have to send me some, Loretta's etc.

A buddy of mine got hold of some beer the other day and gave me two cans. It sure tasted good.

The weather here is beautiful right now. According to the men who have been here, the summers are as bad as the winters. During the rainy season, a person is up to his knees in mud and it's still dusty. It's always dusty in Korea!!!

It's 6:15 pm now. I'll work until 10, then work again 2 am to

Love

Eddie
