In contemporary warfare, with weapons and other equipment that define high-tech, military personnel who work in support positions are more valuable than ever. Michael Mills never left the States during the Persian Gulf War, but he was responsible for the logistical set-up and maintenance of important intelligence systems that gave the soldiers in the desert an enormous advantage in being able to overcome the enemy quickly and efficiently. He had served the same function a year earlier on site during the Panama Invasion.
