Sept. 21, 1953

Dear Mom and Dad,

Today's the first day of fall.

I went to the Personnel Section to make certain of my rotation points. I was correct. I have 27 at the end of September.

The weather is the same as usual.

I got off guard at nine o'clock this morning. I go on again at four. Until then I have to shine my shoes and clean my rifle. I don't have a automatic carbine anymore. I've got an M-1 rifle. They claim a guard looks sharper with a bigger weapon.

We got a new man in the section. He was welcome because he brought some batteries for the radio. We have music once again.

Tonight I'll have an opportunity so see a movie I hope. It all depends on just how long General Cooper decides to stay in the area.

I'm going to chow now. I'll write the next opportunity I get.

Love

Eddie
