Dear Mom and Dad,
I'm still hereThank God.
After suffering enormous casualties, the 7 th Division finally pulled off Porkchop. Today our planes are flattening it with bombs. I hope this will be the end of it all.
I've been too busy to write. I'm sure you'll understand. I haven't even washed my face since this started. I hope to get a chance this afternoon.
How are things at home? According to the latest news, they've reached some sort of agreement with Sigmann Rhee. I hope they can settle it now.
Today is Sunday. I went to Mass and Holy Communion.
Yesterday our crew laid 16 miles of wire. All the way from Hill 347 to our present position.
I'll have to go out again in a short while. I'll write again as soon as possible. Everything is quiet now. Our planes are very effective.
P.S. We've moved farther to the rear the day before yesterday.
