Dear Mom and Dad,
We're still in "blocking position". Today I went with Witkowski to the 9 th Corps in South Korea to see his cousin. It was quite a ride. We went through some villages. They were the first I've seen since I got here. I never realized that we were so far in North Korea.
Last night I went back to the battery and actually had some champagne. It was good and cold. Really living, huh?
Yesterday I finally got mail, nine letters. I also received the Sporting News" with the ball point pens. Thank you.
I've been trying to buy a radio but I can't find one just yet. I'll get one in a couple of weeks if I keep looking. When someone rotates, I'll buy his.
Witkowski is from New York.
For the last few days I've been in the motor pool working on my jeep. After that drive today I suppose I'll have a hellava time trying to get it in shape. They really expect miracles. Did you receive my money orders?
I don't need any of the writing paper you're sending, all I need is envelopes. Thanks anyway.
I just came back from a movie. I saw "The I Don't Care Girl". I thought it was good.
Well, I'm sleepy. I have to get up early to work on my jeep.
