It's snowing now. They must have been waiting for weather like this. They decided I was to be a Jeep driver so I had to wash my jeep in the stream. I nearly froze standing in that cold water. As soon as I'd throw the water on, it would freeze. But I did manage after 3 hours.

So tonight I went to bed early because I'm on duty between 10 p.m. & 2 a.m.

About 8:30 they woke me and told me I had to drive a Lieutenant to the Division Artillery. That's quite a drive from here. I was sure scared driving without lights on these winding roads. But--I made it.

I guess I'll be doing quite a bit of night driving before I get out of this army. They say the bad roads are those to the O.P.s. I'll find out one of these days.

I spent the afternoon putting up a mess hall.

That's the poop on what happened today. I'm on CW watch now. I feel sleepy. I've got two receivers here so I put one on "Metros" and the other on station Nomad from Japan. On Nomad I can hear some of the popular U.S.A. songs. They are a few months old though. I still enjoy them.

Nobody in the battery got mail today. Something must have happened to the delivery system.
