6 P.M.

(or 1800 o'clock)

Dearest Lil --

At this moment we have finished our evening chow of Sampson steak (baloney) & some other indescribable items--I have taken my wash off the line & folded it as neatly as possible & put it away in my tiny--about 2 ft by 4 ft. locker. What a change in life! And I am also garbed in my undress blues--blue middie blouse--something to get into & out of--blue trousers--leggings, (as I am indoors, my white hat is *not* on my head). We change from dungaries [sic] to undress blues for supper & the evening.

Looks as if I'm getting a break--tho [sic] you can never tell--Today I reported too [sic] Battalion headquarters & was assigned there as a a "yeoman"--this is a temporary title--no rating yet but one may be forthcoming
