My Darling:
Honey the big day has arrived at last. One half of our job is now finished. Let us up & pray that Japan will soon follow Germany in the road to complete surrender.
I suppose that the old town really had a terrific celebration on V-E day. Even this sleepy little French town had quite a celebration. Last nite they had a public dance on the village square which lasted untill [sic] 10:00 this morning. I can vouch for that because our hotel faces the square and the noise was a bit disturbing after 2:00 or 3:00 o'clock. I guess these people deserve a bit of fun though after the rough time they had for the last 6 years. Now that it is all over now what.
I sure hope that I can get home for a spell [?]. There are three alternatives. Either we go direct to the S.P. or to the S.P. via the States or we stay here to occupy Germany. However your guess is as good as
