My Darling:
How are you this morning Sweetheart? Just fine I hope. I'm feeling pretty chipper myself.
Last night we had a party at the club. I had a fairly good time. I didn't drink much I still have no hankering for hangovers. Needless to say I missed you very much.
I moped around most of the evening and went home about 10:30. Seeing all the other fellows dancing and having a good time with their girls made me so darn lonesome & homesick for you that I just up and left.
Honey I sure do miss you more & more as each week drags on. I wich this war were over so we could all get home. I keep looking at these pictures (5 snapshots) you sent and think of the wonderful times we had out West.
Perhaps this thing will be over soon lets [sic] hope so.
I haven't received any more news on your business venture. I keep wondering how you are making out. I know you are doing well dear but I would like to hear.
I don't know why but at this moment I was thinking about Rocky River valley. I'll bet it will be beautiful before long. Remember the good times we used to have down there. Gosh I'd give almost anything to be there with you right now. Honey your [sic] so sweet and dear. I just can't seem to live without you. Space is growing short so I'll have to sign off. Write often.
With Love
*Herb*
