Virginia Ten-Miler
Each year over 1,200 people complete the most
challenging 10-mile course in the country - the last mile and a
half is uphill - in the streets of Lynchburg, dubbed "Hill City."
World-class runners, including marathon winners and Olympic
medalists, run alongside local citizens in this nationally and
internationally acclaimed event. With support from 700 volunteers,
the race raises funds for non-profit organizations and college
scholarships. It was first held in 1974.
