National Czech and Slovak Museum and Library
Preserving distinct Cedar Rapids Czech and Slovak
traditions, the National Czech and Slovak Museum and Library, a
red-roofed, 22,000-square-foot, European-style building sits on the
rocky west bank of the Cedar River, attracting visitors from all
over the world. In the year 2000, the museum expects 50,000
visitors. In October 1996, President Clinton, the Czech Republic's
Vaclav Havel, and Slovakia's Michal Kovac came to Cedar Rapids to
dedicate the museum.
