Through One City's Eyes:
Race Relations in America's Heartland
This documentary video uses compelling personal
stories of Milwaukeeans to describe the civil rights movement in
Milwaukee over the past thirty years. Originally envisioned as a
master's thesis for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee program,
this project expanded in scope to include a classroom series, web
page, a radio series, and ten community forums which encouraged the
community to become actively engaged in a renewed race-relations
dialogue.
Produced by the Duncan Group, this legacy project is
the culmination of committed community support and involvement, and
has won a number of regional and state awards.
Originally submitted by: Thomas M. Barrett, Representative (5th District).
