Once a stop on the Underground Railroad, this
1840's Greek Revival style house in Walled Lake, Michigan, was
slated for demolition in August1996 to make way for an apartment
complex. What happened instead is documented in this project. A
group of concerned citizens formed a non-profit foundation to save
the building, which eventually was moved to a city park site where
it continues to undergo restoration. The preservation effort and
the history of the house are documented in text, photographs, news
clippings, and a videotape of the PBS documentary "Preservision:
