Natchitoches Folk Festival
The project chronicles the 20-year history of the
festival with video and audio tape and photographs. This year's
festival theme is "folk traditions in the new millennium." Past
years have highlighted the Louisiana cattle and timber industries,
hunting and fishing traditions, and ethnic cultures such as Native
American, Hispanic, and Creole. Three music stages and additional
narrative stages, a material culture area, and a foodways
demonstration area provide spaces for entertainment and
education.
