Friends of Lake Cumberland
This volunteer group has as its mission the
clean-up and maintenance of the Lake Cumberland shoreline. Since
its formation in 1990, its members have developed a systematic
methodology to address the problem, including programs that recruit
within the community such as Adopt-a-Shoreline. The mission extends
to raising public awareness of the need to protect this important
water resource and the surrounding environment. FOLC is documented
in a detailed history, photographs, administrative materials, news
clippings, posters and fliers, and a picture map of the lake.
