Arizona Quilting

Arizona Quilting traces the history of Arizona through women who recorded pieces of their lives in their needlework. The brave women who came to the Arizona territory in the 1800s brought with them all the skills they learned from their mothers and grandmothers. The colorful patterns of their quilts added a spot of brightness to their homes and their lives.

Project documentation includes a book: Grand Endeavors: Vintage Arizona Quilts and Their Makers; a video entitled: "Arizona Quilts: Pieces of Time," several press releases describing the book and video; a flyer on the Arizona Quilt Project, and a booklet entitled: "Curriculum Ideas for Quilt-Ed, Grades 4-5 or 6."
