Rocket City Legacies (Marshall Space Center)
The Marshall Space Flight Center's Local Legacy
project includes "Marshall Milestones," a document chronicling the
Center's history and space-related accomplishments since Marshall's
inception in 1960; a booklet entitled "Wernher von Braun's Support
for the Imaginary Arts," an effort to the trace the 50-year
cultural and technological legacy of Dr. Wernher von Braun and his
famed German rocket team; magazine articles reporting the history
of Huntsville's role in the space program from its earliest days
through the Saturn/Apollo program; and two videotapes -- "Thunder
in Huntsville" and "A Journey in Culture and Exploration" -- that
richly depict the Center's technical and cultural legacy in
Huntsville.
