The Coburn Dance Programs Collection consists of 260 dance programs that cover the years 1934 to 1980. The majority of the programs originate from performances in New York City, although the collection includes programs from Washington DC, Detroit, Seattle, San Francisco, and Boston. The collection also includes some programs from Paris and Leningrad. The programs that span the years 1934-1940 are especially important as they document the performances of many important figures in modern dance and ballet, including Michel Fokine, Doris Humphrey and Charles Weidman, Ted Shawn, Martha Graham, Agnes de Mille, Anna Sokolow, Pearl Primus, the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo, Ballet Theatre, and Helen Tamiris. Other programs include performances by Ballet International, Katherine Dunham, San Francisco Ballet, New York City Ballet, José Greco, Kirov Ballet, and Royal Ballet. - Contents Note
