<mods:abstract>Materials in this collection document the work of award-winning director/producer Nathan Kroll (1911-2000). Initially trained as a violinist at Julliard in the late 1920s, Kroll went on to make significant contributions to the fields of cinema, theater, and television. In his filming of master classes and performances, he left an invaluable record of the works of legendary artists such as Pablo Casals, Jascha Heifetz, Joan Sutherland, Helen Hayes and Martha Graham. Winner of three Peabody Awards and an Emmy, Kroll's collection in the Music Division contains examples of television scripts and musical scores from three of the series he produced for television in the mid-twentieth century.</mods:abstract>
