<mods:abstract>The bulk of this collection documents the composer's friendship with American artist Margaret (Peggie) Dwight, who corresponded with Dallapiccola from 1951 until his death in 1975. It contains more than 300 letters (written mostly in French), and 200 pages of "Recollections" written by Dwight chronicling their 24-year friendship. In addition to articles and programs, the collection includes a few of Dallapiccola's holograph manuscripts (most notably his opera Ulysses and excerpts or sketches of his works) and printed editions of full scores of Requiescant and Sex Carmina Alcaei.</mods:abstract>
