Speaker Biography: Hailed in the New York Times as "the dean of Mendelssohn scholars in the United States," R. Larry Todd is the author of "Mendelssohn: A Life in Music," named best biography of 2003 by the Association of American Publishers. He is also the author of the forthcoming biography, "Fanny Hensel, the Other Mendelssohn." He currently is a professor of Music at Duke University.
