Copyist William Kupfer's ms. in black ink serving as publisher N. Simrock's Stichvorlage, extensively revised and annotated by composer in black crayon, with a few additional markings in blue crayon.

"Copyright 1893 by N. Simrock, Berlin"--Bottom of p. [1] in faded black crayon, and at bottom of various p., also rendered as blue stamp impression on p. 10.

Moderately worn, with slightly frayed edges and discoloration.

Score housed in white paper folded sleeve (29 x 36 cm.) with pages separated by white paper leaves (34 cm.), all housed in folder (41 x 52 cm.) labeled in pencil on side: Brahms. op. 119. Folder labeled on top right: Brahms, Johannes.
