Yiddish American Popular Sheet Music
at the Library of Congress
Acknowledgments and Special Thanks
Many people have worked on making this digital presentation of the Library of Congress' holdings of Yiddish American popular music possible. The holdings are found in both the Hebraic Section of the African and Middle Eastern Division and in the Music Division, and work on digitizing them has been intermittent from 2008 to 2013. Three junior fellows have been responsible for the bulk of the bibliographic description and the digitization of the images: Mariana Brandman (2008), Maya Shwayder (2009), and Carrie Smith (2010). James Wolf of the Music Division digitized and described the remaining items.
Thanks go to staff from both divisions for their guidance on the project:Â
From the Hebraic Section: Dr. Peggy Pearlstein and Dr. Ann Brener.
From the Music Division: Dan Boomhower, Catherine Dixon, Denise Gallo, Karen Lund, Ray White, and Laura Yust.
The "About the Collection" essay was written by Ray White and James Wolf.
The online presentation was created by Nate Trail, Kevin Ford, and Elizabeth Fulford.
