A staggering number of concerts of Felix Mendelssohn’s works are being planned throughout the world to commemorate the two-hundredth anniversary of his birth.  While most of these occurred in January and February 2009 (the composer’s birthday was on February 3rd), concerts, as well as lectures and exhibitions related to Mendelssohn will nevertheless take place throughout the year.  These events may be identified by means of any standard Internet search engine.
