Building/structure dates: 1926 initial construction
Significance: It was built in 1926 to serve as the Val-Kill Furniture Shop founded by Eleanor Roosevelt, Nancy Cook, Marion Dickerman, and Caroline O'Day. It operated as a shop from January 1927 until May 1936. For the last couple years, it also included a pewter forge. In 1928-29, 3 additions were added to the original 50'x25' building.
