Building/structure dates: 1877
Significance: The present town of Pleasantville, due east of Atlantic City, encompasses the former communities of Risleyville, Mt. Pleasant, and Smith's Landing. The communities are representative of the early 18th century bay towns which grew up along Shore Road, the main transportation artery prior to the railroad. Today, Pleasantville has been subsumed by the urban build-up leading to Atlantic City.
