SUMMARY:  Presentation page for the WPA Federal Art Project calendar for 1939. The calendar was presented to members of congress and the current administration as a 1939 New Year's greeting. Opponents of the Project claimed that the calendar was a misuse of taxpayer money, so what was intended to generate goodwill turned into a minor controversy.
