Oral History Guide


  1. Who is being interviewed?
  2. What is his/her title or position?
  3. What is his/her race?  Gender?   Age? 
  4. Where is the interview taking place?
  5. What is the date of the interview?
  6. Who is the interviewer?
Describe what you read or heard.What are your impressions?
  • Summarize questions and responses.
  • Do not include every question and response.
  • Select those that best tell the story of the individual being interviewed.
  • Include direct quotes, using quotation marks when needed.
 
 
 
What are your impressions of the interviewee, based on what you have heard or read?
  • Include your personal observations and judgments about the interview.
  • Always anchor subjective responses in the data of the interview.
