Materials used in the Grandparent/Elder Project are drawn from the following collections:
American Memory
The American Memory
collections contain many primary sources for the study of the twentieth century,
as well as introductory materials and search guides to aid in locating twentieth
century materials. Use the search options provided by the Learning
Page of the American Memory collections as an aid for accessing the rich resources
of the American Memory collections. The search option, Time,
is particularly useful for locating decade-specific resources.

Other Internet Resources
- Museum of the City
of San Francisco provides access to many primary source documents, newspapers,
photographs, etc. on the history of San Francisco. Searching by subject, by year,
or by person (biography) is available.
- Presidents
of the United States (POTUS) from the Internet Public Library provides election
results, Cabinet lists, links to biographies, speeches, and much more for all
of the presidents.
- New York Times On
This Day Archive presents events in history with the front pages of the New
York Times and full-text of some articles.
- World War
I Archives provides access to United States and European documents. Also,
through "Carrie," access to United Nations, Catholic Church/Vatican
documents, world constitutions, and American History documents.
- World
War II Documents Archive from Avalon Project of Yale University.
- 20th
Century History Online Resources from the Herbst Library of The Urban School
of San Francisco.
