What can you create to honor the person you interviewed? The memorials will be seen by the person you interviewed, other guests, and your parents at the Living History Museum Gala.
The ideas below can be adapted or changed. Whatever you do must be something that can be displayed.
Timeline of the hero's life with events, photographs, and illustrations. Include a parallel timeline showing events happening at the same time in the world.
"Person of the Year" magazine, with a magazine cover with the interviewee and a magazine spread showing/explaining what you or others admire. Include pictures/graphics, etc. to illustrate it.
Illustrated poetry book about the hero or his experiences. Perhaps include a diamante-like poem, but instead of the diamond shape, use a shape to represent the person.
Poster advertising the admirable qualities of the hero with quotes/pictures of people who know him, explaining what they admire most.
Collage designed to symbolize the hero and/or the time period in which she lived. Include pictures, graphics, words, and symbols.
Personal crest or coat of arms using symbols that illustrate important events or influences in the hero's life.
Picture, either painted or drawn, that represents the hero, his/her life, achievements, or admirable characteristics.
Web page. Include pictures, information, and links to the hero's interests.
Illustrated ABC book about the hero or children's story book about an event in her life that shows her heroic qualities.
Song written about the hero. Perform it at the Gala.
Dramatic skit or monologue about an event in the hero's life. Perform it at the Gala.
Scrapbook about the hero's life or a period or event in his life.
Museum exhibit or a display or artifacts representing the hero.
Slide presentation using pictures from the hero's life, a taped narration, and music.
