Writing, editing, printing, and distributing a daily newspaper required many workers.  Images in the collection show the publishers of the Chicago Daily News Victor F. Lawson (DN-0080185, DN-0080111, publisher 1876-1925), Walter A. Strong (DN-0084476, publisher 1925-1931), and Frank Knox (DN-0010469, publisher 1931-44).  Reporters also appear often in the photographs at work or in portrait poses (DN-0060709, DN-0058974, DN-0054184, DN-0055824, DN-0007565, DN-0064757, DN-0086247, SDN-009017, DN-0083366, DN-0071238, DN-0064494, DN-0090308, DN-0088609).  The Daily News especially gathered images of its personnel in uniform during the World War (DN-0066760, DN-0069306) and promoted a poster exhibition to increase sympathy for the French (DN-0070095, DN-0070103).
