How best to hand over materials to successful applicants for Phase II of the National Science
Foundation's Digital Libraries Initiative will be worked out after awards are
made. Applicants should note that the filespace required for the digital reproductions for some
collections is very large, sometimes as individual files, and often when the collection is taken as a
whole.
The Library's preferred method of transferring materials will be as compressed TAR files on
cartridge tapes (112M 8mm). However, in some instances, direct downloading using HTTP or
the use of other media may be feasible. Further details about other media options
will be made available on this page when available.
